An introduction to Myddfai...

Myddfai is a special place with a remarkable heritage - where legend and history combine in a unique blend of magic and healing. A real Village SOS with no amenities – no school, shop, pub, post office, or mobile phone signal.

Ours is a strong community steeped in traditional Welsh values –through Village SOS we seek to share our heritage and skills with a wider audience and future generations. To embed Myddfai as a destination of interest linked to its location within the beautiful landscape of the Brecon Beacons.

Our aim is to create a brand that captures the heritage and values of Myddfai,

  • enable economic regeneration.
  • provide a kick start to deliver the community’s 2015 aspirations.
  • encourage enterprise and support local business.
  • increase confidence in the community.
  • reduce isolation and facilitate volunteering across the generations.

We will provide a social hub to make our village more accessible and welcoming,

  • build a new hall and cafe for community and wider use.
  • refurbish the much loved Ty Talcen building as a visitor centre.
  • deliver a diverse programme of social, recreational and educational activities.
